A narrow, winding uphill trail leads to Doodletown.

Parkway Bridge) across toll bridge. Take Breezy Point

the end of the road. For hawk-watch at Fort Tilden,
drive past the Administration Building to the end of
the road, turn left and drive along the ocean to the
far parking lot. This lot is only available without
permit after September 15.
Garvies Point Museum and Preserve

and immediately left into Barry Drive, which leads to
the Museum and Preserve.

Hook Mountain (Rockland County)
Take Interstate I-87 north from New York across Tappan
Zee Bridge. Take Exit 11 and drive north on Route 9W.
After passing the traffic light at Herold Road, climb
the hill ahead and park in the parking area on the right
at the top of the hill. Walk back along the road for
several hundred feet and enter the blue-dot trail on
the east side of the road. After a moderate climb, this
trail leads to the top of the mountain.

Mill Pond – Wantagh

the pond on the north side. We meet by the Gazabo.
From the Wantagh Pkwy (exit W6W) Merrick Road. Travel west for about

side). Park along side the road. Meet at the Gazabo.
Montauk Point State Park
Take I-495 east to Exit 70. Turn right and go to the
end of the road, then turn left into Route 27. Follow
along Route 27 through many small towns and villages,
past Hither Hill State Park through Montauk Village
to the Lighhouse Parking Lot. On return trip on Route
27, poorly marked Exit 62 is used to return to I-495.

road turns sharply to the left, (Bayville Scream Park
will be on your left), turn right into the beach parking
lot. We meet at the far end.
Alternately, follow directions to Bailey Arboretum,
Continue past the arboretum to the traffic light. Turn
right (still on Bayville Road), continue past the next
traffic light, and at the road’s sharp turn to the right,
turn left into the beach.

25A for almost two miles, past the St. John’s Cemetary
on your left. At the next traffic light, turn right
into Cold Spring Road. Continue until you make a left
on South Woods Road. Continue until you see the playing
fields on your left, stay to the far side of the playing
fields and follow the track all the way back.

Make a right at Old Mill Road (a short distance). Continue
to Park Avenue. Meet at the corner of Park Avenue and
Old Mill Road.

north to Route 106 (Oyster Bay). Follow directions to
the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary but continue along
Route 25A past Cove Road, down a long hill. past the
Cold Spring Harbor fish hatchery. At the traffic light,
bear right than immediately left up Lawrence
Hill Road (blinking light). Drive 0.04 miles. Entrance
is the second on the right, after the sharp right turn
of the road.

Exit 35 north (Route 106/107). Continue north until
Routes 106 and 107 split. Take the left fork (Route
107 toward Glen Cove) and drive to the intersection
with Route 25A. Turn right and follow Route 25A to the
next traffic light (Wolver Hill Road and police station).
Follow directions to Coffin Woods, Bailey Arboretum.
On Chicken Valley Road at the blinking light, (where
one would turn right for Shu Swamp), continue straight
for 100 feet, enter the first driveway on your right.

on Yaphank Road. At the Horse Block Road intersection,
bear half left toward Montauk Highway. Turn left on
Montauk Highway and right on Old Beaver Road which turns
